Notes: After the sinking of the Israeli Eilat in 1967 and the actions by russian built missile boats in the Indo-Pakistani war 1971 the RSwN realised they had a problem with large amount of Soviet OSA missileboats in the baltic area. Therefor the navy decided to order an escort for the baltic, specialised in killing the Styx carrying missileboats

, Complement: 3 CO, 6 NCO, 14 enlisted
Notes: Trails with MTBs showed that  the smaller MTBs like the american PT-boats and German E-boats had to little endurance and seakeeping for the Swedish navy. Instead was a larger class designed as a torpedo/patrolboat especially for the baltic and later also the Pacific theaters.  The torpedoboats served througut the war and in some areas until the early 70s. Later was radars, ESM and wireguidence fitted to them

Complement: 4 CO, 4 NCO, 22 enlisted

Notes: In the mid/ late 1950s it became obvious that the older World War 2 era large torpedoboats where obsolete in the new NBC- and missile warfare naval battlefield. Therefor the navy started development of a missile armed FAC able to act independently and make coordinated attacks with multiple missiles from the ships and cooperating A32 Lansen fighter-bombers. The Spjut-class where in the beginning armed with 6 53cm torpedoes until the new box launched RB 08C became available in 1964. They where also the first units in the RSwN with fully enclosed bridges to protect the crew from NBC downfall.
Two units went trails with a modifed SeaCat launcher armed with either Rb 07 SeaCat SAMs or RB 52 (SS-11 AT).
All units where removed from frontline service in the early 1980s and rebuild to navigational training platforms for cadets.

Complement: 6 CO, 10 NCO, 22 enlisted
NotesDuring the late 70s it became obvious that the old RBS 08 SSM and the Spjut-class FAC where becomeing obsolete due to age especially in the electronic battlefield.. To replace the ageing Spjut-class in frontline service a larger and more capable resplacement was ordered, the Hurtig-class patrol-corvettes. A larger hull was used for better crew accomodation, endurance and most of all electronics, especially a very specialized EW-suite with signalintelligence sensors for both radar and radio frequencies, electronic jammers as well as chaff and flare launchers. Their higly specialized electronics made them an important part of the swedish naval intelligence gathering force.  Their sophisticated electronics made them also able to take on much larger oponents such as the Sovremenyj-class destroyers
